Best Shaving Cream for Men in 2026

Best Overall: Cremo Cooling Shave Cream

Key Facts

  • Price: $7.97
  • Size: 6 fluid ounces

Why It Made the List

Out of all the shaving creams we were fortunate to test, we found Cremo’s Cooling Shave Cream the best overall shaving cream on the market. The texture of this shaving cream ‌was rich, yet creamy and smooth to the touch, but not greasy. It was easy to apply to the face without having to over-smear, and the best part was the cooling sensation that we experienced, which honestly felt soothing and refreshing.

We found that a small dab of the shaving cream surprisingly covered a good portion of the face, which is good because at six fluid ounces for only $7.97, you’ll get more bang for your buck. Even if you use a lot of the product, it should last you–give or take–three months, depending on your shave routine. The shaving cream is paraben-free and designed for all skin-types, but the product does have a scent, and while we found the smell of menthol pleasant, it may not be the best shaving cream for those sensitive to scents.

All in all, Cremo Shaving Cream gave us the best overall shaving experience, and if you are seeking a shaving cream that covers all the bases, give this shaving cream a try.

Best Shaving Cream for Sensitive Skin: Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel

Key Facts

  • Price: $4.07
  • Size: 7 fluid ounces

Why It Made the List

We found Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel to be the best shaving cream for sensitive skin. This shaving cream is fragrance-free, lathers nicely, and feels clean and smooth when applied to the face. The best part about our shaving experience was how it made us feel after the fact, which left us with a soft and clean-shaven face.

The shaving cream is budget-friendly. You can expect to pay ‌less than $5 for a 7-ounce can, which is a very good deal and should last you quite some time. So if you have sensitive skin and are looking for something unscented that gets the job done, Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel is an excellent choice for sensitive skin.

Best Luxury Shaving Cream: The Art of Shaving Shaving Cream

Key Facts

  • Price: $35.00
  • Size: 5 fluid ounces

Why It Made the List

If you are looking for a shaving cream that embodies the quintessential effect of luxury, then the Art of Shaving Shaving Cream might be what you are looking for, as it gave us a very rich experience. The shaving cream lathered easily. Whether you use your hands or a shaving bowl and brush, the shaving cream froths either way. But once we coated our faces with ‌the shaving cream, it was time to find out about the shaving experience. It provided us with an effortless shave, no nicks, cuts, or any irritation to be had.

It was truly a high-quality event that did not disappoint. It was a true contender for our best overall winner, but there were a couple of things that really hindered it. For one, it is expensive. At $35.00 for five ounces, it is hard to justify placing it best overall when it may be out of many people’s price range. Furthermore, there is a scent to the product, though we absolutely loved it, we had to consider those who may be sensitive to scents as we found it to be on the stronger side. However, it is an amazing product, and if you are looking for something that can upgrade your shave game, this might do the trick.

Best Low-Cost Shaving Cream: Gillette Series 3X

Key Facts

  • Price: $6.97
  • Size: 7 fluid ounces (2 Pack)

Why It Made the List

The Gillette Series 3X shaving cream is the best low-cost shaving cream that can give you high-quality results. For only $6.97, you’ll get two seven-ounce cans, making it the most cost-effective option on the list. The product comes out as a blue gel-like substance, but once it’s rubbed together, it foams into a rich, moisturizing lather infused with cocoa butter, ready for application to your face.

We found that the scent smelled great and was not overpowering. It was easy to spread onto the face, and when it came time to shave, our razor blades glided smoothly across our faces, leaving us with a smooth, clean shave. However, if you are sensitive to scents, you may need something milder or scent-free as the fragrance was on the stringer side.

Best Natural Shaving Cream: Pacific Shaving Company Natural Shaving Cream

Key Facts

  • Price: $9.99
  • Size: 3.4 fluid ounces

Why It Made the List

Natural cosmetic products are often criticized for being over-priced and don’t work as well as their engineered counterparts. However, that’s not the case for the Pacific Shaving Company Natural Shaving Cream, as it earns our pick for the best natural shaving cream. During our trial with the plant-based shaving cream, we found that it had a pleasant scent and the cream-like texture lathered well in our hands.

It’s important to note that it did not foam or sud up; it kept the cream-like consistency, but we have to say it worked well because once we started shaving, the razor glided nicely and easily with no irritation. And the best part about the shaving cream is that it’s plant-based and paraben-free. Compared to other shaving creams on our list, it is on the expensive side. However, it’s not unreasonable for $9.99 for a 3.4 fluid ounce bottle; you get a great product.

Best Shave Butter: Van Der Hagen Shave Butter

Key Facts

  • Price: $5.97
  • Size: 6. fluid ounces

Why It Made the List

We found Van Der Hagen Shave Butter to be the best shaving butter that we evaluated. The shave butter is fortified with top ingredients such as macadamia oil extracts, shea, mango, and cocoa butters, making this a high-quality shaving cream–or in this case, butter. However, don’t expect this product to lather or foam up. It had the same consistency applied to our face when we rubbed it together in our hands, but that should be expected.

When we applied it to our face, it spread a smooth, light film of shaving cream onto our face. While the thinness of the product was a concern, we found it was no problem for our razor to glide over the shaving butter and give us an excellent shave. As for the scent, there is a light citrus aroma, but it is very faint. However, this is a great shaving butter, and if you are looking for something that doesn’t foam but still gives a great shave, Van Der Hagen Shave Butter might be what you are looking for.
