Best Aftershaves for Men in 2026

Best Overall: Kiehl's Razor Burn & Bump Relief

Key Facts

  • Price: $26.00
  • Size: 2.5 fluid ounces
  • Made with: Aloe vera, vitamin E, lipo hydroxy acid, and willow herb extract.

Why It Made the List

Kiehl’s Razor Burn & Bump Relief earned our top choice as the best overall aftershave. During our initial testing, we found the aftershave had a creamy, non-greasy texture. Once applied, the aftershave absorbs quickly into our skin, moisturizing our face and gave our skin an immediate cooling sensation after shaving which we found to have a pleasant and soothing effect.

It is important to note that while Kiehl’s Razor Burn & Bump Relief is our pick for best overall aftershave; it is expensive. At $26, you’ll get only 2.5 fluid ounces per bottle, which compared to other aftershaves on the market it isn’t a lot. Fortunately, the product goes a long way, as you’ll only need to apply a small amount to gain the benefits. Also, the product has a bit of a scent, but it wasn’t overbearing nor unpleasant, but it is something to keep in mind if you are sensitive to fragrance.

Best Aftershave for Sensitive Skin: Proraso Aftershave Balm

Key Facts

  • Price: $13.60
  • Size: 3.4 fluid ounces
  • Made with: Green tea and oatmeal.

Why It Made the List

We know coping with sensitive skin can be ‌very frustrating; but as we started testing Proraso aftershave balm for sensitive skin, we found it to have a gentle, but thick creamy–almost milky-like–texture that absorbed really well into our skin, helping our skin feel more comfortable after shaving. The best part is it’s reasonably priced, which goes for $13.60 a bottle.

It is important to highlight that the product carries a scent. It has a light citrus and apple smell, but it wasn’t overpowering; however, if you are sensitive to scents, you may need to find an unscented alternative. Furthermore, Proraso aftershave balm can be difficult to find at your local retailer. Luckily, if you are in the market for an excellent aftershave designed for sensitive skin, you can conveniently place an order online.

Best Low-cost Aftershave: Harry's Post-Shave Balm

Key Facts

  • Price: $15.96 for a pack of two
  • Size: 3.4 fluid ounces
  • Made with: Aloe vera and cucumber extract

Why It Made the List

Harry’s Post-Shave Balm is a popular aftershave, as it combines affordability with a luxurious touch. The product is made with aloe and cucumber extract ‌and has a light, creamy, non-greasy texture. When we applied the aftershave to our faces, it quickly absorbed into our skin, but it did, however, leave our faces a tad shiny, but it wasn’t bad, especially since it left our skin feeling moisturized and more comfortable.

The aftershave has a rather mild fragrance. While we thought it smelled great, the scent lingered around for a while, so if you intend to wear cologne or a strong-smelling deodorant, be sure that the smells don’t conflict. Overall, we found it to be an excellent aftershave, at an even better price of $15.96 for two packs, if you do the math, that’s $7.98 per bottle, that’s a pretty good deal and why it made the list as the best low-cost aftershave.

Best Premium Aftershave: The Art of Shaving After-Shave Balm

Key Facts

  • Price: $50
  • Size: 3.3 fluid ounces
  • Made with: Shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and glycerin

Why It Made the List

For those who like premium products, we found The Art of Shaving After-Shave Balm, the unscented version, to be top-tier. While it will cost a pretty penny, which is a major downside–at $50 for a bottle of 3.3 fluid ounces–we felt it truly was worth every penny. The texture was light, but silky and rich, without being greasy or oily. After we applied it to our face, it quickly absorbed into our skin, moisturizing it and calming our skin with no fragrance whatsoever.

However, aside from the price, the only other downside we found was ‌that the product may be difficult to find in retail stores. But online retailers provide easy access to the product. If you can fit The Art of Shaving After-Shave Balm into your budget, it is definitely worth considering purchasing, but if it is beyond your price range, then no worries Proraso Aftershave Balm and Harry’s Post-Shave Balm also work wonders and provide a more affordable alternative, which are also excellent.

Best Cooling Aftershave: Duke Cannon Ice Cold Cooling Aftershave Balm

Key Facts

But that’s not all; the aftershave also hydrates your skin and may help reduce the feeling of post-shave irritation, leaving you feeling refreshed and ready to start your day.

The aftershave had a blue, almost gel-like texture, but once we rubbed it onto our face, it felt ‌soft and creamy with a chilling burst of coolness, but it did leave a bit of a film on our face and It does, however, have a strong fragrance of menthol and sandalwood, which we liked, but could be too much for someone who doesn’t find that smell pleasant. However, it’s reasonably priced at $9.98 for a six-ounce bottle and has an excellent cooling effect.
